swappin engines

I recently went through some water in my 2000 range 3.0 and now it knocks...so i found a 1992 range wth a 3.0 in it so i want to put it in my 2000 can u change the distubuter to a coilpack or leave it alone

Man if you are going to all the trouble to swap engines, use ANYTHING but another 3.0L. A 4 banger would be better.
