Ticking noise?

I've noticed lately that when I'm sitting at a light idling, i can hear a ticking noise. It does it all the time, and it speeds up with the RPM. I haven't gotten to look at it with a stethescope but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas.

Actually it doesn't do it when it's cold. At least it isn't right now

Just throwing it out, but can be a slight exhaust leak thats expanding with heat.

Valvetrain, possibly a lifter knocking.

Possibly the distributor is off-time, or on it's way out, are you getting worse/bad mpg? Seem like it has less power? Does it shake or wobble a bit when it's running? Otherwise, lifter knocking, worn valve guides, bent valve, maybe a valve spring, the serpentine belt could be frayed and the loose strand smacking against something, maybe a bearing in one of the pullies is going bad.

Doesn't have a distributor. Power is fine. Pretty quick for a 3.0 if I may say so myself. Belt is brand new.

I had a ticking noise a while ago...popped my hood and saw an off and on electrical arc going between one of my spark plug wires and the engine block. Replaced bad wire, ticking gone.

New plugs, coil, and wires less than 1000 miles ago.

Sounds like you've changed and replaced the obvious. Problem would lie within the engine then.

Sounds like Lifters. I have the same thing for my 4.0l. Seafoam it and see what happens, the ticking could be a carbon buildup on the valves also.
