Ticking Noise, Only While In Gear
Ticking Noise, Only While In Gear
I searched and couldn't find anything on my problem..sorry if its around lol
Anyways, 3.0l edge 2wd 2003 Auto, so about 2 weeks ago my truck developed a ticking noise. Now its only when its in gear, and I hear it up to about 35 mph because after that I assume my exhaust and road noise are too loud, or it stops?
Now if I park it, put it in neutral I can rev it up to 3500 where it bounces and it will not make any type of sound, it sounds perfect.
As soon as I put it in drive, and put my foot on the break and rev it up just a hair it will start ticking. But it sounds in the hood area, not the tranny beneath me.
Any help is greatly appreciated, other info, the truck from time to time will sputter when I slow down quickly and what not. Every once in a while. Not too common, so Im not sure...

Well after trying to figure it out I dropped it off at the dealer, ends up being the belt and belt tension er.. Nice few hundred dollars, but I am happy its not the rod/bearings..So just thought I would post the answer to MY specific problem in case anyone else ever searches and reads it.
