Tranny Slipping

Tranny Slipping

hey guys my 2000 3.0 V6 auto tranny slips in 3rd and reverse.

could it be valve body? or torque converter??


what year tranny bolts up? does 4.0 trannies work?

You can try some lucas trans repair to get you by for a while. It works really well.

Ok my OIL level is higher then the suggested markings. how do i drain some of the oil out of the tranny?

are you checking the trans fluid with the truck at operating temperature, running, in park? If the truck is off and/or cold then the fluid level is going to read high. how does the fluid look/smell? it should be a red or pink color and not smell burnt.

i had the same problem tried the lucas oil, it was a temporary fix as mentioned came to find out mine was worst caseanario and clutch pacs needed to be replaced the ware and tear was obvious, im in the process of putting it back together would recomend trying esier stuff first. just saying mine was slow to engage into reverse and it would rev high and slam into third. rebuild kits are roughly $250
