Fill a bucket up with water. Add some salt. Stick two wires (connected to a 9volt battery) into the water. The wire ends will bubble. The wire with the larger amount of bubbles is Hydrogen, the one with the smaller amount of bubbles is oxygen.

Thats it in a nutshell ecxept they probably use the 12 volts generated from your alternator. Does it add MPG? I doubt it.

I'm working on building one right now, I'll hopefully get it hooked up tomorrow. I've done some research, It should work, but I'm hoping for about a 10% increase(1-1.5 mpg) none of that double your mileage BS. I have a little under $10 invested, so if it doesn't work, idc.

edit: don't waste your money buying some kit or instructions from one of those sites, just search youtube for 'HHO' or 'Hydrogen Generator' or related, there is enough videos on there to figure it out and build your own

Most systems use a bubbler...like a bong for the HHO.

However, you are taking energy away from the alternator to burn a little tiny bit more fuel in your combustion chamber. Rob Peter to pay Paul.

yea, so i turned it on and went to test it with a lighter,,, the canister blew the f*** up. hydrogen burns really fast, but i'm learning things every time it doesn't work (this time it was a lot louder than other malfunctions) so pretty soon, i might have a working one to see for myself.

HHO does take some energy to create it. But what it does is burns better than regular gas. So your not really adding anything to your truck your just making it more efficient. Thats where the gains in MPG come from.
