y-pipe without catalytic converters

y-pipe without catalytic converters

i had an exhaust leak and removed the why pipe after doing so realized it is to rusted to repair but i cant find a y-pipe without the catalytic converters to replace it it is a 2000 ranger with a 3.0 flex fuel with the two o2 sensors .

im curious as well so please if you find something post it up. mines an 01 non flex but same part prolly.

You can check local off-road shops, and I think the 4.0l and 3.0l used the same Y pipe in most years

An exhaust shop should be able to build you what you need if you drop off the old rusted one, can't see it taking more than an hour shop time and maybe $50 for parts

yea ive thought about checking junkyards as well. Is the factory one stainless steel? Would it be possible to buy one from a junkyard and knock out the cat internals?

No on the stainless steel

Never tried to "knock out" the insides of a cat converter before, but you can't buy them from wrecking yards, I think its illegal to sell used Cats in most states, a Federal thing
