2019 Ranger terrible ride.

Ok guys (and gals), I have a brand new Ranger (xlt, 4x4, off road). A couple days after I bought it I noticed a vibration. It was really annoying on the highway. I took it in and they told me there was nothing wrong. Today I drove another ranger and it did the same thing. I feel it at all speeds. Am I crazy? I think it should not do this. It really feels like the transmission slipping. Please help!

Welcome to the forum

No, it should do that

Was it the same stretch of road?
Or different road

Did you notice if both Rangers had the same tires?
Wondering if the stock tires are the source

Yes, could be the 10-speed automatic but wouldn't think all speeds would be effected

But this is the first post I have read about a vibration problem with the new 2019 NA Ranger

I let the salesman drive it, and then we drove another one. All he could say was, that's road vibration. I said no way. Mine has the 18" wheels and the other had 17, but basically the same hankooks. I dont think its tires, because it really does it at slow speeds. I had been searching the forums and I read a post where the guy said it was like you could feel every little imperfection in the road. I couldn't find it again. I know it's a truck. But I've had two rangers before. 1997 and 2002. At slow speeds It actually feels like a manual transmission when you dont have the clutch all the way down. Sorry to ramble. I'm a little frustrated. This is a $37000 vehicle.

Thanks. Tried that. They came overinflated (35-37 psi). Dropped all 4 to 30 as spec'd. Definitely not the tires, because it's really bad/noticable at 0-20 mph.
Gets worse going up or down hills. Makes no difference what gear it's in. Gets worse if you lift off the gas on the highway.

Just went through the same thing with my 17 Sierra. Lower speeds felt it the most. I’ve got 49000 miles on my truck.could feel in steering wheel. I thought was tires that almost done or this very hot summer we’ve had. But drove on new pavement and felt same that. Kept getting worse and worse last five thousand miles. Dealer said was torque converter chatter. Changed fluid to synthetic or a different brand and it magically disappeared. May want to google GM torque converter chatter and compare notes.

That is weird I have the same truck with 17 and I don't have that problem at all I had multiple people ride in my truck all say they like how smooth it is so this is the first time I heard of this now I'm wondering if maybe I just haven't noticed it

You would notice. Haven’t had the problem since. I’m one of those that if only a few people have the problem, I’m one of them. 5k miles later and still smooth as glass for me.

Got 11400 on the 2019, no vibration of any sort like what has been described, so it is NOT "all of them", or, presumably, "normal".

The ride is stiff..... OK, it is a TRUCK, and not only that, it is a smallish (hah) truck with almost a ton capacity (1860 lb, if I recall correctly). It's just GONNA have a stiff ride until you get a serious load in the bed, which probably will be somewhere in the 600 lb load range..
I have the base model with the smallest size tire, probably 16", would have to look it up.

When cold, I DO notice some harsh shifting, but after a mile or so that is gone. No shift issues slowing down, the thing coasts forever, not much engine braking, it will actually speed up on a shallowish hill with my foot off the throttle. I think it shifts up when you lift your foot.
