As I go through all of the options and 'packages' (another term for paying too much for something you don't want or need) I see "subscription required" listed in the 'features' section of the description. What subscription for what option requires a subscription? FORD doesn't seem to care to share the details of this little caveat. The WIFI I noticed uses AT&T as the source. Does this mean that my verizon smart phone plan is useless for the wifi feature? Does this mean I need to adopt AT&T as my cell provider for this to work? Shame on FORD. It seems like a partnership scam to me. The "salesmen" at the dealerships - I've been to a few different ones - seem to be lacking in knowledge or they just plain do not wish to divulge information. I'm finding it difficult to find a Ranger with the options I want, not to mention without the options I don't want.
Can anyone shed some light on the technology 'package'? I absolutely want the factory installed GPS. When I asked at a dealership 'can I get GPS' I get the, "It has apple/android car play." Big whoopty-doo. I don't care. I get it. It's a great feature. But I have my reasons for wanting GPS.

Back to the question. What subscription service do I need for what feature? Thanks to anyone who can enlighten me on this subject.

thats for sirius travel link and for the WIFI it is ATT only can not change carrier. After the free trial period you need to pay for that

and if your truck is bulit without factory nav, it can not be added after the fact

Factory Nav can be added. There is a company that supplies the module with the factory nav installed. Its a little pricey, but an easy install.

Sirius Requires a subscription as does the AT&T Hotspot, but you do not need to activate either.
Ford Pass is a Complimentary Service offered by Ford.
