4.0 belt change and throttle body

Changed the belt today waiting on the draft so I figured I snap a few pics.

The new belt vs. old belt. I'll keep the old belt as a spare.

The tensioner, you can just push it with your hands and some testicular fortitude.

The new belt seems to work great, no more squealing at start up.

Throttle body is a little dirty. Feels slightly oily, let's hope Takeda doesn't read this. lol But it hasn't been cleaned in over 100k, soooo.

So I think I'll clean it today along with the IAC and MAF. Just need to figure out the best way to do it. I know, I know search. lol Any advice is appreciated.

..and it's draft day so GOOOOOOOOOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!

To clean the TB I just got some throttle body cleaner and sprayed it pretty good let it sit for a couple minutes and wipe the crud away. make sure you have a rag below the TB so there is something to catch the drips. Just to worn you it might have been just mine but it took a couple tries to get the engine to start back up after I was done.

I got that same belt its great.

Got everything cleaned up just waiting around to make sure they're completely dry. Stuff really wasn't as dirty as I thought it would be. Now lets see if it'll start now that I've done all this. lol

Thats how I did mine @ 40,000. Disconect the battery termanial (-) turn the headlight switch on for 15 seconds and keep the battery un-plugged for a couple mins. Reconnect the termanial with headlights off and it should start right up with no problem.

I let everything dry and got it all reinstalled. Works great!! Idle drops down quicker at start up and my butt dyno can tell a slight difference running around town. Yay for long overdue maintenance!!! Thanks y'all.

i just did the same thing last sunday on my truck. gatorback and cleaned the throttle body with the ford fuel injector cleaner p/n pm-2. it works like the pm-3 but its in a arrosol can and foams up. oh and i also changed my plugs and did the throttle cable mod. i dont know which one helped most but my calibrated butt told me it was worth it.
