4.0 SOHC mpg
Stock tires, and less of a lead foot. There really isn't a lot you can do to make the 4.0 get much better gas mileage, but you can do an E-fan and a tuner helped my MPG. However, tuner is around $400.
Yes, driving habits will make the most difference.
Make sure air filter is clean and spark plugs are in good condition.
Computer controlled fuel and ignition vehicles will squeeze the best MPG out of your vehicles weight and wind resistance if you let them.
A vacuum gauge added to the dash will help you keep engine in correct operating range for best MPG.
Also a Bluetooth OBD II reader can tell you if fuel trims are within proper parameters.
A bad injector or O2 sensors or MAF sensor can cause lower MPG.
Or a ScanGauge has a realtime MPG readout based on current speed and fuel usage

Yep.... not it's strong suit by a long shot.
Back when I first got my truck brand new - I calculated it's MPG's exactly one time.... never wanted to think about it again. lol

I have to ask, what number did you come up with?
It was probably 10+ years ago when it was stock...lol I think it was around 15ish though.
Gas mileage now? I couldn't care less (Even if I did drive it) lol

I get average about 19mpg in my 4.0. About 80% of my driving is highway.
I put a drop in K&N air filter in it. I doubt it really does much, but my intake needed a new air filter anyway, and the K&N lasts a lot longer than other filters. Worth the $30.

Highway really isn't too bad... like the 4.0 Jeeps they do a lot better on the highway if you control your speed through turns/hills appropriately. I get 16 at best with mostly city driving, and close to 25 with a highway-only tank.
