4.0 SOHC O2 sensor concern

Hi guys,

Upstream O2 sensors...

I have two part numbers from my repair manual for my 2003 4.0 SOHC:

XL3Z9F472AA
XL3Z9F472BA

Left and right...I dunno which is which. Connectors appear to be the same upon inspection.

However...

Cross-reference on both numbers leads to the same O2 sensor in the end; left or right.

If I change both at the same time, will the comp throw CELs at me in an attempt to get me to go back to the OG ones?

Or, can I change one of them one weekend, run it a week, then change the other on another weekend, can it "learn" that one is left and one is right?

The OG ones are 16 years old, so it's been time for a long while for new ones.

Thanx all.

O2 sensors are all the same, well on Rangers, the part number difference is about the length of the Lead wires on the O2 sensor

Yes, connectors are universal

Make sure you plug in passenger side O2 into passenger side plug, and drivers side to drivers side plug in, because they are universal they can be reversed, and it will cause an issue, lol

The computer won't care about O2 sensor change, it will start readjusting long term fuel trims each drive cycle so give it a week to see any changes if thats an issue
