What year 4.0l?
2000 and early are different than 2001 and up 4.0l, and its important
Cold engine
Remove 1 heater hose at firewall, doesn't matter which one
Add coolant to radiator until coolant comes out hose and core
Reconnect hose.
Enough air is now out of the system
Replace rad cap
Drive until engine is fully warmed up, or the rest of the day
Let engine cool down over night or at least 4 hours
Remove rad cap, coolant should be full to the very top
If not then you have other issues, not caused by "not getting all the air out"
Coolant leak in the rad or engine system, sucks air in on cool down
Bad rad cap, doesn't let coolant back in on cool down
Plugged overflow tank, same as bad rad cap
Head gasket/cracked head leak, pumps "air" into cooling system when engine is running
4.0l OHV engine, 1990-2000 Rangers, had an issue with head gasket or cracked head if engine is EVER over heated, just one time is all it takes
Search our site for "Glove test"
I have posted it several times, free and easy test to see if you have this problem

Not sure what the video is for??
Thats for a Degas cooling system, you have an Overflow system
Yours is self purging of air
As said unhook either heater hose, fill coolant until it comes out heater hose, put hose back on
Start engine top up radiator put cap on
Fill over flow tank to COLD line
After 5 minutes or so thermostat will open and you should see any air left in the system bubble up in the Overflow tank
Drive truck for at least 20-30minutes, uphills are best to get it fully warmed up, but highway speeds are good to
Stop at home
Look at overflow tank, should be above COLD line now
Let engine cool down
After a few hours Overflow tank should be back to COLD line or below it
Refill to COLD line
Open rad cap, coolant should be at the very very top
If this doesn't happen then you have other problems causing "air in the system"
