4.0L Intake Question

Is it possible to install this filter in place of my stock air box without having any problems? The reason why I ask this question is because there are a few hoses that look like vacuum hoses that are attached to the back of the box and a hose that connects to the intake manifold. Im not sure if my engine will start to run badly if i mess with these vacuum hoses.

You got a 94? I had the same engine, and disconnected those stupid vacuum hoses and had NO problems. But, you CANNOT use the intake tube that you have. You have to find one from either an Aerostar, or a '95+ Ranger. They don't curve back toward the firewall and are completely round, no flat spots.

In general, if you can mount the filter, you'll be good to go.

more than likely they are just the valve cover breather hose. Trace it back and check. If it is, buy a breather filter, looks like a small air filter to put on the valve cover. And that will eliminate the hose for you.
