4.0l ohv auto to manual swap.
I love driving a 5 speed. I really wanna do this swap. I'm just curious on what trannys will work from what vehicles and what all I need.
I know tranny, computer, master and slave cylinder, set of pedals.
Any info helps. If someone has done this I'd love to know the cost. Thanks

I know this is a month old but I figured for those attempting this it'd be worth sharing. I got a rebuilt one from smartpartsauto .com and so far so good since June. It looked great when I popped the top and inspected it after it arrived from the carrier. They don't have any HD's though. It ran me about as much as the local junk yard wanted for their pos wrecked ones. So I am happy since I dont care if the case has been used or not all that matters it its not cracked and the guts were brand new.
That was around 750-800$ Total cost on the swap probably went up 1,200$ but I used all new everything and a hurst shifter since it was easier/nicer than a JY model and cost as much/less than one from ford/online.

Ive got a thread with all the parts needed listed its not hard to do but set aside a weekend to do it and you WILL need an extra set of hands if not you will be there forever bolting it up. I used an LKQ trans and its been great so far. Ill try to link the thread not sure exactly how to do it though. Mine was out the door about $1700 but i used some upgraded parts and the most expensive part besides trans itself was the tune because i had to pass emissions after but if you can just swap the PCM your life will be way easier. Ford made it easy its mostly a bolt over swap mine was a little more because i didn't have a good pick and pull nearby but if you do that $1200 number is much more attainable.
