4x4 Transfer Case Shift Motor for 2000 Ranger

Folks,

I pulled my transfer case switch motor to do an R&R. Since this vehicle has spent its life in the north, the unit was heavily corroded. The switch itself (not the motor drive) has a cover held on by 3 torx screws. One broke the head off. One stripped the torx bit. And one came free.

I know I can buy a new motor and drive, but am hoping to source a non-rust spare. In the event that no one offers one up for sale, which of the various replacements have good track records?

So, anyone have a used one for sale?

Who has bought replacements/reman units and can recommend a brand?

Thanks in advance.

Ford, or Borg-warner, used the same shift motor unit from 1987 to 2011, also the same on full size F-150s with electric shift 4WD transfer cases

So you can get used from any of those years

Motorcraft unit would be best, new or used

Dorman makes a good version as well

Only difference is over the years was if the "8th" wire was in the connector or not, its a Brown wire for the electric clutch inside the transfer case.
It varied by year, lol
All connectors had a place for 8 wire/connectors, but Brown wire was run directly from harness to transfer case some years and not part of the connector, you can re-pin it as you see fit
