94 4.0 balancer installation tool

GREETINGS, wanted to share this. Had some SERIOUS problems finding an install tool for my harmonic balancer. Found plenty that would thread into the shaft but were too large to fit through the balancer hole. The YouTube videos I watched showed people \"tapping" the balancer with a hammer to get it started. I ordered a 12mm X 140mm 1.5 pitch bolt and nut..$5.00. I then cut off the head of the bolt, notched it to accept a large screwdriver. I used my MAP gas torch and bent a 19mm wrench..voila'.

Yea, the installer at my local auto parts was useless in getting the balancer back on so I did the same as you and just got a long bolt with a nut and washer at my hardware store with same threads.
