I'm looking to pick up an intake and I’ve had my eye on the AEM Brute Force for a while and the Volant. But I can’t find HP or TQ gains anywhere. I called AEM and the rep didn’t know. I remember there was a pretty significant increase in power with the Brute Force over the K&N in the SOHC, but AEM took down the numbers from their site. I’ll probably be investing in an exhaust system and tuner in the near future, but I figured I’d start out with an intake. So does anyone know the approximate gains? And if not, which would be the better buy?

 

Sorry I don't know the actual gains, but from my experience, don't expect to much from them. The one's i'm used to looking at usually claim around 10Hp

 

for the $$ i'd buy a tuner and the intake.. if u wanna see any real gains.. exhuast will help also, but persoanlly i think its more for the sound (depenind what system u go with)

 

I saw 11hp from the K&N. Which IMO is accomplishing the same thing.. just removing restrictions.

I've since taken the graphs down.. but search under "wydopnthrtl" and you'll find my measurements using autotap.

I have the volant and i saw real power increase. i don't know how much the instruction stuff said 22hp and i wouldn't be surprised if it was 22 but it is a noticeable difference
