This is exactly what I have experienced.
I normally run a dual staged Nitrous setup when having fun with gasoline. When using E85, its better then running Gas without the bottle added.
I ran E85 for a period of about 8 months. Until proper timing and setup was done, there was less MPG made. Once having a local shop correct certain aspects, it ran much better then on gas.

Woah, thanks for the link that gave me a link that told me there is an E85 station on MacDill AFB. FTMFW!
Buuttt, that link is full of misinformation on E85.

Technology is in place for hydrogen to be safe. GM and BMW both have vehicles on the road now that are hydrogen powered.

From the research that I have been involved in, a 30% mix or E30 is the right combo for power and MPG. No engine mods are required.
E85 should be like $2.50 per gallon with $4 gas, but it just won't happen. Too many factors are involved, thus hurting the ethanol drive. Plus the lack of gas stations that will sell it.
If my truck could burn E85 I would run it. Whenever you can keep more of your money in the country you live in, it's good. Corn is grown here, turned into fuel, giving people jobs. The bi-product is sold to cattle farms and the fuel sold to us.
Oh yeah...don't even think of blaming the raising cost of food on ethanol, thats big oils fault! I look at it like this, if you don't even kinda support the ethanol movement, you should wear a towel around your head.
