when you plug the x3 into your truck, it should display the strategy code.

should be on your door tag i believe.

On the X2 you might need to use your laptop to pull the strategy code

on my xcal2 all i did was plug it into the port under the steering wheel and it should read the strategy code. As long as the unit has been cleared of the previous code.

From Bamachips: Even if most of your vehicle is stock I will need to know these items due to differences in the base files for each computer. It's the four-digit code written on the top of the PCM under the hood in the rear of the engine bay. The axle code is written on the inside of the driver's door on the white label, it will be a two-digit code of two letters.

But the strategy code: The Strategy code is basically the same thing as the calibration code but it is a 7 digit code that is read from the PCM using a hand held device, wether it be a tuner, NGS scan tool or some other type of vehicle interface device. This is actually the best information you can provide because this is read directly from the PCM and gives me the exact level of your software.

I can't view the stratagy with my tuner. How should I go about finding it now?

the code is under the hood, on the firewall, near the passenger side. the PCM hangs out of the firewall and a big plug plugs into it. there is a barcode there too. its a 4 digit code

The stratagy is the four digit code? Or is it the code above that that is below the bar code?
