so friend has a 2002 explorer with a 4.0 sohc 90k miles and its gett a bunch of codes ill post a picture and it runs like crap.. she said she put blue devil in it about a year ago and seemed ok till recently started running real bad real fast..looks like a pain in rhe butthole to replace the head gaskets would it be easier to pull the motor to repair it or do it in the truck?
With the 4.0l SOHC engine its better to pull the engine, so you can also do the rear timing chain update
Blown head gasket will always cause over heating within a few minutes of start up
4.0l SOHC wasn't known for blowing head gaskets, 4.0l OHV was
None of those codes point to a blown head gasket, just FYI
They don't discount it, but generally a failed head gasket will just effect 1 cylinder, maybe 2 adjacent cylinders
For those codes it could just be old spark plugs, and/or vacuum leak because of high idle
The O2(lean) codes are because of the misfires in 4 and 5, they are on Bank 2, so that would be expected and not part of a problem
