Cam Synchronizer install on a OHV 4,0
Rebuilt my 4.0 OHV from my 95 4x4 vin code X. ordered the Cardone 84-S2605 Sync which is different then the majority of the units I see videos on , mine does not plug straight into the back but comes up about an inch and the harness plugs into it there.
Not much info on installing and timing these , I see the other plain round ones and know they have the alignment tool for. I also ordered the Cardone
84-8400T set that has 4 color coded alignment tools, however none of these will fit my Synchronizer, The Sync calls for that tool set but inside the tool set is a list of synchronizers by Cardone part # telling you which color tool to use. The Synchronizer I have is not listed. Anyone ever run into this or have the procedure to install and time it. Found 1 post that the guy lmprovised a tool but later stated it wasn't exaclty right and later used a store tool to reset it. I do have the correct Sync. as far as it matches what was on there, and have seen these on other Rangers and Explorers, just not as common.
Just want to get this right. Thanks

Further information is I need to follow a service procedure using a wire Harnes adapter
AKA Ford CID test harness T94T-50-B which a quick look where I could find it , it's over a $100. anyone know how to hook and extra stock harness up to do the same task. Seems like it would work, just need to know which cam sync terminal to hot, ground , and meter?

Know this is an old post...but to shed some light for anyone else who might come upon this looking for answers....the '95 and BELOW 4.0 OHV engines have a different sensor on top then 96 and up -thus do NOT use the sensor / sychronizer alignment TOOL....they have a window with marks and you reference the rounded metal vane inside window (turns with the gear).
As far as the 'test harness T94T-50-B' / kit...I just plan on stabbing/probing the blue/orange-yellow wire with the positive lead of voltmeter and run long wire from battery negative to hook voltmeter negative to....for dialing in process.
