Canister Purge Valve

Ok everyone. Got a code 443 and 1445 the other day and 442 is the purge valve perm open. Changed it and still getting the 443 code. So I figure it may be the solenoid telling the valve to stay open. I have an extra 1 that I will be trying tonight. Now the 1445 code I have had that for a year now and can't find what's wrong so I'm not concerned for that one. I believe the problem lies within the pcm for that code.

Now the charcoal canister has 2 hoses running to it. 1 hose runs back to the fuel tank and the other runs to the intake. The hose that runs to the intake has the purge valve and the purge flow sensor or solenoid on it. Which one should be first inline after the canister, the valve or the solenoid?

P0443/P1443 are fairly common on 95~97 Rangers. They are often caused by split evap hoses or a bad Purge Flow Sensor. The PFS comes as part of a ~$100 assembly. The hoses and PFS are near the carbon canister which is behind the DS headlight area.

I know where everything is I just need to know which comes first the valve or the sensor coming off of the canister running to the intake. All hoses to and from the canister are perfect. No splits or cracks.

My picture is vague but seems to show both in the same area near the canister and battery. The solenoid has 2 wires but the flow sensor has 3.

Both are right there on the same vacuum line but I need to know which comes first on the vacuum line. Is it the solenoid or the valve. Not sure if it matters though.

The vacuum diagram shows the flow order as:

Canister
Purge Solenoid
Thermistor (presumably they mean the flow sensor)
Throttle body vacuum

I replaced the whole the assembly and I'm still getiing these codes. Not sure if they will eventually clear by themselves but I clear them and they come right back.
I'm wondering if a leak in my fuel filler neck will cause these codes. I think I may have one back there.

I really doubt it.

Leaks in the tank area cause P-codes 0441, 0455, 0456, 0457, 1442, 1455. This is checked by applying a specific vacuum to the tank, closing it off and then measuring the rate at which the vacuum changes.

The P0443 is for an electrical problem with the Canister Purge Solenoid (or its wiring) and P1445 is related to an electrical problem with the Purge Flow Sensor (or its wiring). Since it appears that these components have been eliminated by swapping them out, it would seem that the next thing to check is the wiring between them and the PCM. It is extremely unlikely that the PCM itself is causing any of these codes.

Will any problem come about if i did nothing about it. I've ripped my wiring harness apart the last time trying to find the problem and nothing.
