purge valve question

purge valve question
i have a 96 ranger 4cyl with 250k miles i need to pass emissions and was wondering if anyone knows how to bypass the purge valve on this truck

its the valve on the evap setup somewhere im throwing a code for it i thought it might be bad hoses cuz they were all dry rotted but its not i was told it was a purge valve or purge sencor

Could be a bad hose to the fuel tank or bad gas cap.
Just plug the one hose to the fuel tank.

ill try blocking off the line to the tank will this turn off my check engine light thanx for the help i apreciate it

Did you try this? Did it work? I am having the same problem.
