Clutch and Brake Pedal Bushings

Hi there,

I am having friction and squeaky noise issues with my clutch pedal. I've narrowed it down to the clutch pedal bushings. I've dissembled the entire assembly, cleaned and lubricated the metal and plastic bushings with silicone lubricant.
It solves the problem temporarily but I am experiencing small amounts of play on one side - which lubrication can't fix. Now the issue I am facing is I am unable to find the bushings specific to my 08 Ranger.
Ford wants to sell me the entire assembly for $300 claiming that those bushings kits don't exist for my year of Ranger. I am finding the bushings online for older rangers, mustangs, broncos, F150's etc.

Here is a similar part that isn't (apparently) compatible with the Ranger: Dorman-74016

Blue arrows show where these bushings are located.

Does anyone know what would be compatible with the 08 Ranger? I've seen other posts where someone builds their own bushing using copper piping, etc. I'm not against that but.. I would prefer not!

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum

Not familiar with the 2008 diameters but those bushings should work
They can expand a little if diameter of shaft is larger, and you can cut them down a little if shaft is smaller

Only other difference may be the "washer/shoulder" thickness for side to side distance, but you should be able to add thin metal washers or "sand down" thickness of new bushings

Thanks for the reply Ron. I will get Lordco to bring the part in and compare. Hopefully they are a direct match, if not I will alter the part as necessary. I will post again in a few days.

For what it's worth, I bought a brand new one from Ford about 4 or 5 years ago. It had minor play in the shaft right out of the box and has never been a tight fit. Never had any noise from it though.
