Does anyone recognize this 4.0 SOHC part?
Hi,
I have 4.0 SOHC question for those experienced with the internals of this motor. Mine's a 97 and I'm about 50% complete with a repair/partial-rebuild and find myself in a situation where I have what might be a "leftover" part.
It's a "spool/spacer" that appears to have been on the upper mounting bolt of the old-style, broken LH-front cassette, but I'm not 100% certain. Does anyone here recognize this part or know if it's needed after updating to the later, stronger cassette?
I think it might have been replaced by a single mounting bolt that came with cassette kit 7U3Z6A257A but would love to know for sure before continuing with further assembly. Thanks in advance! :-)

Hi,
It's definitely an SOHC, but no worries .... was just curious. I'm pretty sure that based on it's size and threads, that it must have been the fastener set-up used in the upper position of the original L/H cassette. I just wish I would have taken pics of that particular phase of disassembly like I usually do. Should know for sure within the next few weeks ... ;-)
