Icon5 smog trouble

if ur look at my signature you'll see what type of truck i have. well the smog is making a loud click. if i take it off what will happen. if the smog isnt really improtant is there a way to bypass it and what serpentine belt do i use.
if the smog is something i need to keep on. why does it make a loud click. it is a constant click. it clicks like every 10 or 1 minute.

your "smog" is making a loud click? wtf is your "smog"??

Could you possibly be talking about your A/C compressor? It clicks on and off when in Defrost or A/C.

Im pretty sure a vehicle doesnt have a smog controller Unless your talkign about the ECU... but the only thing on an engine that purposefully clicks every now and then is the A/C Clutch cycling on and off.. if you stare at the engine, youll see it stop spinning, click, then start spinning again.. that is the air conditioner.

if you aint using the a/c and the "clicking" bugs you, just pull the electrical connection on the compressor. i had to do that with a astro van during the winter, it would cycle in the "defrost" setting.

Best thign to do though.. and to save gas mileage.. is to just run a cutoff switch to the inside of teh cab.. or heck, even outside in the engine bay works.. flip it on, the current runs through, and its powered on.. click it off, and the circuit is broken, and makes it not click anymore :-D
