Factory AC Wiring for Non AC Ranger Included?
Factory AC Wiring for Non AC Ranger Included?
Hello All,
I will be adding AC to a 1993 4.0 4x4 Ranger (non AC equipped). Can anyone verify if factory wiring connections for a non AC truck are buried under dash and in engine bay area? Also -1993's were R12 or R134? Thanks so much!

AFAIK the only difference should be in the selector to engage the AC Compressor. In which, you would need the AC control panel vs AC Delete control panel. The wiring harness was already disconnected from the AC Compressor before I got the vehicle, so I can not confirm that...
Do you have the flat Firewall panel (the one that doesnt fit the AC Evap?)
I am in the middle of an AC Delete and looking for one if you are getting rid of it.

Whether or not any vehicle is "pre-wired" for anything depends on the model of the vehicle.
Auto makers have base models and custom models
Base models will be wire for what they have, nothing extra
Custom models will be pre-wired for popular options, i.e. power windows, power door locks and AC
This allows assembly line to add the options as ordered
So your 1993 may or may not have AC wiring, it is not a given, if you have power windows and door locks I would guess yes.
