my driveshaft vibrated off, cutting my exhaust and drivers side shock in half, wiping the heatshield off my gas tank, flattening the "U" shaped support under the cab flat to the floor, breaking my tailshaft housing in half, and cracking my transfer case in half. i felt the speed limiter kick in and let off the gas right as it happened...
'twas a fun ride indeed!

Please, just one more. . .
I did 500+ mph once (or so I was told). . .
but it was in a Boeing 747 . . . and I wasn't even driving/piloting. . .
wasn't very exciting at all, almost felt like I was standing still . . .
And it was all done legally!!!
Sorry, couldn't resist . . .

No, just growing up and becoming wiser! Unlike some RF members that show signs of never growing up, and/or don't have the ability to become wiser!!!

Oh wait.
And for people saying there is no reason to go faster than 70. Bull. Time is money in many casses. If I spent $20 more in fuel to take 2hrs off of my commute to a $20,000 business deal....money well spent.
Just because YOU dont have places to be and people to see doesnt mean other people dont. I'd bet some of you are the people who slow down when people even get close to tailgating. So instead of avoiding conflict by speeding up a bit or making room for them to pass, you are proactive in potentially creating road rage. Yes, the person tailgating is in the wrong, but two wrongs make you dead.
If you speed up to the maximum speed you are comfortable traveling and they continue to tailgate, then slowing down for a bit is a way to tell them to back off. In any case, at that point you should be looking for a way to let them by.

amen to that here in jax everyone hauls *** man... once your on the interstate if your going 80 mph then your getting past by everyone lol.... avg cruising speed is about 85 or so and the fast lane at least once and hour you will see someone going 100+ but ive only gotten my 2.5 up to 105 going down a very big bridge lol 96 or so everywhere else but in my FJ i hit 120 with easeeeee
All is fine and dandy if you want to go the speed limit, just dont do it in the left hand lane.
You can actually get a ticket for impeding traffic flow, even if you are going the limit. We talked about doing this in Tampa on I-275. When we asked an FHP officer if we could get in trouble, he said it is quite possible.

Where do you all come up with these crazy numbers. Your speedo only goes to 85. How do you know you are going 86 or 186. You don't. you are guessing unless you have GPS. I know how fast my Ranger is because I have the timing slips from the track. Oh yea. The "Rocket Ranger" runs 115mph in 1320 ft.

I refuse to exceed 80 for any reason on a public road with a speed limit of 65. It accomplishes nothing other than wasting gas. Maybe some people feel the need to drive at some retarded speed on a public road to make up for other deficiencies in their life but I don't see the point.
Pickups are not meant to go fast, my case and point below.
