you won't loose power, you might gain a little. Stock exhausts are highly restrictive. To get the most you will need to get more air into the engine. Like an un-restrictive intake. Engines are just air pumps, what goes in must go out. Just don't go to big 2 1/2 is plenty, remember it's not a top fuel dragster...

Mine sure doesnt sound quite like his - its all in how the exhaust works, and changing out the cats/cutting them out has a huge change in what the exhaust will sound like. I prefer a mellow stock cat system with a super 40 - doesnt sound raspy in the least.

i just tru a true glasspack on my 91' 4.0 with a 45* turndown dumped behind rear axle, 2" pipe, stock from manifold to the pack, sounds pretty dang good, nice low idle and not raspy at all.
