I drilled out the vent hole on the fuel pump, and it now fills almost perfectly. I can go with the medium setting on the pump and it's fine. If I go with the fast setting, it will occasionally stop. So, I know what the answer is now. Wrong fuel pump, or maybe defective fuel pump by way of an improper vent opening on the top of the pump.

So for now, it's good. I just wishI had some history on this truck.

Try pulling the evap hose off of the canister and blow air into it.

I did that before. There was resistance. The tank would pressurize, due to the check valve in the filler neck on the tank being up in is normal position when there is no fuel traveling into the tank. If you push down on the check valbv just a bit, the air blown in would fly right out.

Seems to be working as designed.

While I was in there, I did enlarge those holes. I then went to the gas station with my new larger vent opening on top of the fuel pump, and the two holes you mention, 07. I took it to the gas station, and it let me fill it on medium speed. It was not great on full speed, but ****, I had an improvement. I got home, put the bed on, went back to fill it, and it's not letting me fill it again.

So, one would think that the filler hose to the tank is getting kinked. No, it's good. I'm truly friggin' stumped by this.
