Hello everyone, I'm a bit new here but I have been surfing the forums for a couple of years now. Just now needing to make a post. I have a 99 explorer with the 4.0 sohc. I am going to swap out the motor, tranny (5r55e), and rear end (8.8) to my 99 ranger 2.5l with the 4r44e and 7.5 rear. I have pretty much figured out the rear end. I'm going to transfer the explorers upper shock mount crossmember to the ranger, everything else according to measurements will bolt right in. I believe I should just be able to drop the motor in to the same motor mounts, if not move them a bit. At this current point and time I'm down to the wiring. I'm doing a complete AC system delete, egr delete, and mainly the unimportant stuff is going away. My main question in the body harness matching up to the motor and tranny. I know I will have to swap PATS and all the other "required systems" but is there anything in particular that I should be aware of? And yes, I have read everything possible about it on this site and no, I'm not buying another ranger. And I dont want to hear about how bad of an idea it is, as I've already seen on here. Just need a bit of help.

 

And also, the evap system doesnt really make sense to me. Do I need to swap the explorer evap system to the ranger or is the rangers suitable, with a little modification? Or can I just get rid of it completely? And no, I'm in florida. Not worried very much about emissions.
