GAS Filter stuck!? Cant get it off!?

Now I know that you got to have the special tool to get the gas filter off. But my filter is stuck. Even with the tool I have it clamped around the end closest to the engine and yoy gotta push up to move the "spring locking mechinism". But I try to do that and nothing??????? I get the other end off fine but the end closest to the engine is stuck!!!? I dont understamd? Any suggestions?

Does your truck have the clips in it too that you have to pull out. I wanna know if you can go to a dealer and get new clips if you broke one.

Well, I had the best luck when I pushed the line farther towards the filter. While pushing the line into the filter, push the tool away from the filter into the line. After that, it should just pop right off. And that was after... hrm.... 40k miles... I kinda neglected my fuel filter for awhile, which probably contributed to my current "lean bank 1 & 2" condition.

Best of luck

Actually, in the Haynes manual, it says you can pull the connector on the passenger-side floorboard ... I tried both... personally, I like the pull the fuse and let it die, but YES you should depressurize the line
