How much HP did I gain?

I did search and didn't find what I was looking for.

How much HP did I/ should I have gained when I added the Bama Xcal. to my truck? I have it set on the 87 performance setting.

Thanks,
-Mike

the 87 perf tune won't give a huge gain, maybe 5hp if that. There wasn't anything changed that would increase the HP, it just optimized the current configuration. Now if you put in the 91+ octane tune you would see a difference. Next i would suggest an intake and exhaust.

On a stock 4.0 on premium you get about 17hp/15tq based off bama... Probably more like 20-25hp/20-25tq with intake and exhaust from the tuner alone. Plus whatever extra you got from the intake and exhaust. Thats to the wheel. To the crank with intake exhaust and chip you probably get about 30-45hp/30-50tq.

This was the only dyno information I have see on Bamachips website. and it is for the 2.3 4 cyl.

"On a dynojet dyno I've seen gains of 10 rwhp and 17 rwtq with just a standard 87 tune! When we were finished we had made more RWTQ then a stock 3.0 V6 with this engine on a manuak 2002 Mazda B2300."

Actually check this out

And I quote "On a mail order tune I've made numbers in the 195 rwhp and 218 rwtq, improved from the stock 178rwhp and 203 rwtq. Now dyno tuned I've made 200rwhp and 223 rwtq but I was there and made some adjustments that I couldn't do without a a/f readout."

Thats on 91...

the 4.0 has 207hp at the crank. He's talking about at the wheels thats why its lower.

hope that clears it up for you.. However on 87 performance the only thing ive seen is for the 4cylinder. But to the rear wheel the 4.0 gets a 17/15 increase according to doug. I would guess you'd get another 5-8/5-8 to the wheels with intake an exhaust... maybe more even.

Anyway, when you think about it, when you fill up on 91 you pay maybe 2-4 bucks more a fillup, but if you get 2-4mpg better cause of a 91 torque tune and keep ur foot out of it, you really save up money. I dont mind the extra money at the pump for the extra power.
