I want to get a bamachip and tuner, but I don't know if they make them for my Ranger. 1991 with an EEC-IV computer

It seems that if you want the tuner then it wont work because they require an OBD port, but im not sure about the chip though.

If you have a pcm you should be able to use a chip. You need an obd port for the programmer.

yeah if you're thinking of getting a programer from bama.. i think it only works with OBD II, which started to be used when??? i thought it was like 93???

i'd email either Doug at bamachips, or email Bob (SoundPer4mance)..

OBD-II was used in the rangers 96 and up. we can use chips for the earlier rangers, but dont really prefer them as there have been some problems in the past with end users installing them incorrectly and damaging their PCM. Ill talk to doug and see how far back he can tune, but i have a feeling it may only go back to 93 or so

Obd port is looking like a small printer port on a pc and is inside the car
Pcm looks like a gray box under the hood
