STARTS AND STALLS...
Long story short my Ranger will not stay running. Sometimes I can start it, keep my foot on the gas and keep it running but this time it will not run, When it does briefly turn over, it spits and sputters and quits.
I've replaced the IAC and switched fuel relay switches (along with cleaning the whole throttle body out). Had to have it towed to Ford the other day and when they went to start it, it started right up for them (which is what it does for me also) Sometimes it starts and runs perfect, other times nothing.
Truck is a 2001 4x4 4.0 SOHC. Only 40,000 miles on it. I've had tons of problems. In fact, Auto Zone thinks its computer is bad.
No trouble codes or CEL's are present.
Ford can't find the problem because it starts and runs fine for them.
My questions is...what do I try next? Thanks, Mike

Crawl underneath and look up under where the drivers seat is . inboard of the framerail.
You'll see a squareish plug with a bolt in the center .
Remove the bolt and unplug the connector, Spray the contacts with electrical cleaner and reinstall.
Also helps to coat the contacts with dieelectric grease.
And change the fuel filter if you have not done so.
