K&n Filter problems
K&n Filter problems
So Have a 2001 ranger 4.0 put the K&N fipk system on it. The engine would rev up and then go down to below 500 rpm. sometimes would die sometimes it would come back to around 1000 rpm. It would do it not all the time but it would also happen at random times. replaced the tps two times didnt do anything. So i took it to a shop they cleaned out the MAF and something else took the filter off and put the stock one back on. it has been running ok since. it runs it doesnt hesitate like before, but it still has a rough idle. Any ideas? Class anyone?
Thanks

if you have a vacuum line unhooked somewhere that would certainly do it. i put the same one on mine with no problems. make sure everything is hooked up as it should be and that you didn't put the MAF sensor in backwards.
ok im pretty sure it was on right. Just a random thought but the 4.0 in the explore sport trac sohc is the same in my ranger right? I ordered it for my ranger. the intake i got said 4.0 sohc but the paperwork in the box was installation for the sport trac. Im sure this isnt an issue, just trying to cross out the possibilities.
i dont know if they are exactly the same, but as long as everything that was hooked up to the stock setup is still hooked up I don't think it's an issue. Did you have any issues installing it or did it seem to go alright?
