low voltage to tps sensor

I have a 2006 ford ranger v6 4.0L XLT. Its throwing a p0122 code.
I've checked the voltage at closed .7 and open at 4.3, i've replaced the tps sensor itself.
i cleared the code but eventually the code came back and ive done all the readings again and cant find the problem.any solutions?

Welcome to the forum

Reads like it needs to be adjust so you get .9 and 4.5

If the bolt holes are not slotted, so you can turn the TPS to increase its OUT voltage, then....................

On the throttle linkage is a screw, looks like an "idle screw" it is actually an anti-diesel screw, with volt meter hooked up turn screw clockwise(tighten) until TPS shows .9v
Then check wide open, should now be 4.5

I've done this and reset the code and the problem still shows up. I've done the readings multiple times and they all check out, and my truck will not have the check engine light on for awhile even after the amount of miles needed for a engine cycle. it just randomly appears

If TPS is a Motorcraft(Ford) replacement then computer is the problem

If its a 3rd party TPS then hit a wrecking yard and get a Motorcraft TPS, and swap it out to see if it fixes the issue, if not then Computer is at fault
Won't cause running issues usually, just annoying

Just a heads up, lower voltage can cause this, and other random codes, so check battery and charging system, like you should every year or so, lol
