My bucking is back w/ no codes

My bucking just came back tonight. Seems to happen about a week or so after I clean my MAF. Can't find a stock air filter box at the jy for my truck and I'm hearing different things on wether the stock filter is a flat or a cone filter. Any ideas.
I guess 'll make another jy run and try to find 1 but I nned to know if it's flat or cone. I believe it is a cone filter since it has the hole on the side of the engine bay that runs to behind the headlight and for the housing to mount to. I found one off of a explorer so I picked it up cheap but it does not close properly because the MAF sticks out a bit to much and will not allow the round plastic plate that closes off the MAF portion of the box to sit flush and lock. This prevents the part the filter sits in from lining up right and locking into place.
Thanks

Dug a little deeper. Checked all the voltage and ohms at the MAF, TPS and coil and all are in spec. So I ruled the out. Unless the maf keeps gettng dirty maybe fuel pressure or intake gaskets or even clogged cat? Cat is original. Replaced the dfps and iac reecently so it isn't them. Checked all plug wires and vacuum, all check out ok.

I still think it is the plug wires. I had new motorcraft wires go bad on me after a few thousand miles. I really didn't like the bootie connections so I bought Taylor Thunder Volt wires which fixed whatever problem there was. I ruled out the dpfe sensor by tuning it off and was about to buy a new maf sensor if the new plug wires didn't work.

Yeah, the truck practically has to catch fire before a code will be thrown if it is something serious. For something that is not serious it will always throw them.

New symptom maybe or I might just not have heard it before. When I start the truck after it has been sitting and i get my rough idle i can hear the exhaust. It sounds like this until the idle calms down. It makes a constant putt, putt, putt over and over. This just a symptom of the rough idle or could this be a symptom of my issue?

I'm about to take it to a garage and have my wallet emptied by them. Symptoms been going on for 4 months now off and on.

Just for kicks I took the plugs out and they all looked fine along with the wires. I did notice that my valve(not sure what it is called) that allows the coolant into the heater core is leaking. At least I found my coolant leak. Also found that my 3rd O2 sensor after the last cat was loose. Tightened it down so I\'ll see what happens.
