Name that part

While I was changing plugs on the passenger side of the '03 Ranger 4.0 today, this appeared from nowhere and fell on the floor under the truck from the engine area. Can anyone tell me what it is and/or where it goes? D dont recall hitting anything with the ratchet or knocking anything loose....??? Its all rubber and about 1 1/2" across....hope its nothing really important.

Thats what I thought too but the truck has orange bumpstops on the front end and they are both still there. Weird...I took a look around underneath when I had the fenderliner out doing the plugs and couldn't see anywhere obvious where it would go. It has some rust in the center hole like it was on something metal but for the life of me I cant find from where.

Yeah, and frees up an ounce of weight for that extra oomph. Lol. I hope it nothing motor mount related, looks like a motor mount isolator should not come out unless the bolt was removed from inside it....Hmmmm

Check the top shock mount. Looks like an upper shock bushing

Just changed the shocks....definately not from that, the rubber from the shocks was trashed...New rubber came with the new shocks

As for dimesions, it is about an 1 5/8" across and the middle opening is about 7/8" Thickeness is just a shade over 1/2" and it looks fairly fresh, not like something that was exposed to undercarriage elements.

On second thought, maybe it was a leftover from the shock change that fell back in there somewhere...I got under and looked around and couldn't find anywhere else it could be from. Oh well, truck runs fine and hasn't blown up or caught fire yet so I guess I'm good
