Need a new starter

I have a 2000 ranger, 4.0l v6 manual, and im planning on going to a junkyard soon to grab a new starter, what trucks have the same starter? (or one that would also work with it)

Look up starter on a Ford Parts website, and get the part number, then look up the part number and it will list the models and years it works with

Manual or automatic does matter with the 4.0l starters

1990-2000 Ranger 4.0l with M/T(manual) will work
1994-2000 Mazda B4000 with M/T

Wrecking yards generally charge 50% of new price, starters run $80-$100 new, so I would consider new
Starter motors generally last 8 to 10 years in average use, so used starter 4 or 5 years

Instead of going to a junkyard, go to a starter/alternator rebuild shop and have yours rebuilt.
