We recently had a real bad cold snap in missouri. It was -5 or 10 for a few days in a row. I had to drive my truck some and it all the sudden overheated I immediately stopped and it puked out some antifreeze I sat there and let it cool all the way down and then limped it back home I only drove about a quarter mile. I waited a few days for it to warm up when it did I went out try to see what was wrong all I can see is a small leak on the right side of the radiator where the plastic is clamped against the actual radiator. I'm just unsure if there could be other issues like anywhere else in the system that I should check before focusing on the radiator.

I'm hoping it's just the one spot on the radiator not something more. It's been so cold I haven't messed with it.

Leak was probably there for awhile and you were just low on coolant so it overheated

I assume the heater was on, since it was so cold out, did the heater air get cold right before the over heating, that would also confirm low coolant level on the engine

 

To be honest I was driving before the vehicle even warmed up all the way. It's still only 4° here today so it'll be awhile for I get to it I don't have a shop

 

It was/is low on coolant
Radiator is not used until engine is above operating temp, 185degF
