rear main seal

rear main seal

i have a 1994 ranger with a 4.0 ohv and the rear main seal is leaking. my question is do i have to pull the motor out or can i just drop the transmission?i tried searching but nothing came up.

you have to take the tranny out and drop the oil pan at the least but be just as easy to take the motor out and replacing the oil pan gasket and front seal while its out

drop the tranny change the seal and pan gasket, the front seals rarely leak but not a bad idea Downey

my font seal is leaking but not as bad as my rear seal i just keep adding oil lol
