rough idle/ slight miss
I've noticed that my 4.0 94 ranger splash has developed a slight miss that I can hear at exhaust pipe. I've changed oil over to Castrol high mileage 5w30, New Fram air filter, New autolite plugs, bwd wires. Used motor medic motor flush before changing oil. I've also used Lucas oil fuel injector cleaner. Sometimes it smells like it's running too rich. Usually when I'm about out of gas. Also my ABS light won't go off,got a code 12 on it. Check engine light doesn't work at all anymore. I've only had the truck for a month, only has 141k on it. It sometimes makes a brake noise when taking off when cold or wet. Sometimes hard to get in first at traffic lights. I know I've put a lot of problems on here, but if anyone can offer suggestions, please do. Should I just clean my MAF sensor? I'm probably gonna do that anyways.

What did the tips of the old spark plugs look like?
Can you feel a miss when driving or is it only at idle?
Common issue on the 4.0l is a dirty MAF sensor, easy to clean though.
Good read here on it: Ford Ranger Mass Air Flow Cleaning, Removal and Installation
For ABS code 12 check the 3 wires on the side of the master cylinder, you probably have a loose or broken wire.
Pull on each wire, usually one will pop out, the bad one, lol, you can usually fix it by pushing it back in.
You have two O2 sensors, these are rated for 100,000 miles so........wouldn't hurt to get new ones.
They won't cause the miss but can cause rich running, so lower MPG.
Check the clutch reservoir on firewall, make sure it is full, hard to get into 1st with engine running and stopped, means slave isn't disengaging clutch disc enough, so you could have some air in the system and may need to bleed it.

poor little ranger
Well I cleaned my MAF sensor, seemed like it was running better. Then when I got home this morning the thing seems to be worse. Now when sitting at idle, it will almost sputter at times. It will run smooth when first started, then start running really rough. What's wrong? Is it the ignition control module? Or something else? I'm at a loss. Someone please offer some advice.
