Smaller belt size
Smaller belt size
Anyone happen to know what smaller belts are available for the 4.0? Installed a new alternator and it appears to have a smaller pulley so the tensioner is making contact with the AC lines now.
It will be a custom length
What year 4.0l there were two models?
And with or without AC?
Best bet is to take the belt off and measure its length, also count the ribs(width)
Then go here: http://www.daycoproducts.com/online-...1?part_type=20
Or take the belt into an auto parts store, and see if they can size you a shorter belt, make sure to put a label in engine bay with the correct part number if you need to replace it

Take belt in to auto parts store they should have a belt gauge, belt is put on it and then stretched, it will tell you/them the length, then get a shorter one, with same rib count
Just a thought, not sure how much shorter you need to go
The way the alternator mounts to the bracket would allow you to put in a few washers/spacers between alternator and bracket, to put pulley farther out, so stock belt may fit
You are there I am not, so just an idea
