4.0 OHV v6 Vacuum Line

Hey, I need some help to plug my vacuum system, i've just bought my Ranger 95, and the last owner removed the whole vacuum system, so i am restoring it, i bought the vacuum reservoir, the lines but, i cant find where i can plug the line that goes through the firewall, i appreciate you guys help.

Welcome to the forum

Easiest to see where they go thru from INSIDE the cab, under the glove box

There will be TWO vacuum lines
One for/from the vacuum reservoir, it's to "power" the air direction vents, i.e. defrost, panel, floor, usually Black
The other is for MAX AC heater hose by-pass valve, usually White

In the engine bay there will be a heater by-pass valve, 4 hoses connected, it will have a vacuum valve on it, this would be connected to the firewalls white hose
When MAX AC is selected inside the cab that sends vacuum out on that hose and pulls closed the valve so hot coolant is no longer flowing thru heater core
So its only used in MAX AC

I am really thankful for it, appreciate your reply, i will remove the glove box and try to fix.
my max ac was working normally and stopped after i pushed a grey vacuum line that was connected straight to the intake manifold, probably the last owner made a "quickfix" to remove the vacuum system and fix the A/C.

Yes, Ford used a grey vacuum line from firewall to by-pass valve
This is not needed for AC to work, all it does is keep the cab a little cooler because heater core is not longer as hot, this is the only difference between AC and MAX AC, and AC system(compressor) is either on or off it doesn't have a high or low speed, lol, just FYI

If grey line was on intake vacuum then no heater

Yep, can you tell where can I find these lines to buy, the last owner cut some of them off, and the rubber nozzle, I searched for it a lot, Thanks again.

You will probably have to hit wrecking yards, Ford and GM(and most other car makers) all used these "hard plastic" vacuum lines, so not a Ranger specific thing
The hard plastic lines are much cheaper than the "old" rubber lines, and they can color coded easier, which is why car makers switched to these

You can use rubber lines for the whole thing or you can splice/repair hard lines with rubber lines of the correct size, these are Vacuum lines so they need no clamps, connections PULL TOGETHER they don't try to push apart
