JBA Headers, and EGR?

I'm getting ready to order some of these JBA headers from Underdog sometime soon, Was wondering what's the deal with the EGR valve, How can I find out which side it's on, or if I even have one?

And yes I tried that search button, didn't come up with what I was looking for

It appears that you have a 2001 Ranger 4.0L, correct me if I'm wrong. In that case, the EGR port should be on the driver side exhaust manifold. 2003 (and maybe some late 2002's) had no EGR on the 4.0L.

The DS header at the bottom of the picture shows the EGR port on the collector.

Thanks bob, It should be covered in some type of head protective mesh correct? I believe that it's on the Drivers side, because there is not valve coming from the exhaust manifold to the motor on that side.

You should find a stainless steel tube running from that location on the DS factory exhaust manifold up to the egr on the intake manifold. There will also be 2 smaller branch tubes going to the DPFE sensor. And, yes, there is sometimes a protective mesh over the main EGR tube.

yeah, its on the drivers side. You'll have to bend it slightly during the install to get it to fit back on w/ the headers. be careful not to crease it though....
