Hello everybody. I have a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT with the 4.0L V6 (Automatic). A few days ago I was attempting to leave a parking lot and my truck wouldn't start, just clicked once. I got under and beat my starter with a screwdriver and it started and got me home. That day I was advised to order a new starter and so I did. It arrived today and upon installation it simply spins freely and doesn't seem to engage the flywheel. I don't know how to fix this issue and I already tried reinstalling the starter. Also, the starter I purchased from eBay seems to be missing the small spade connector end on the starter itself, but I'm not sure if this is a big deal or not. Any help is much appreciated! :)

 

Is there no auto parts store near you? Ebay ? sound like you got the wrong part.

 

I have a local O'Reily's but they were charging 3x the amount I got this one for. Also the new starter seems to be exactly the same, just missing the little spade connector.

 

Quick Update: Ended up just starting the return process on the new starter and threw the old one on. It still works fine but I'm ordering a new one with the proper connections.
