Strange Popping-like sound
Howdy guys!
Got another one for ya. 2001 Ranger 4.0 Auto 4X4
Weird popping sound, only happens after idling for little awhile. Not when entirely cold but once the truck warms up a little it'll start to appear, or at least gets to a point where it's audible.
Here's video clip of it. Hopefully there aren't any issues.
Thanks!

Cold engine
Loosen and remove fan belt from crank pulley
Start engine, battery light will stay on, no alternator
See if noise is gone or see if you can pin point noise better with no fan noise, you will be surprised how quiet it is
You can only run the engine for 2 minutes max!!!! with no water pump
But you can do the test as much as you need after engine is COLD again
If noise is gone then accessory pulley or tensioner is failing, spin each one
If noise is still there then localize it
