That's what the $5300 quote is for =]

A complete "drop in" crate package. Everything already on the engine, all plug and play. Just plug in the harness.

Not for the new engine. I have to pay all my rental and transportation fees(uhaul) upfront to then be reimbursed by the ford dealer that did the shotty engine work in my hometown.

If this motor was previously hydro-locked, they should have replaced all the pistons, rods, and wrist pins. Sounds to me someone half-arsed the rebuild and didnt replace something. Time will tell though. Good luck with it man!

get a roll back.......and bill the Ford dealership that fixed the engine to begen with.......OR......you could stay the night tomorrow night in the town were your truck and then call the dealership monday and tell them what it did and tell them THEY are responsible for getting it home and fixing it...

I may just have to do that. Seems they have the only ignition key I have for my truck. I have another key that is cut but not programmed. I'm kinda screwed either way. Damn it!

I just reserved a U-Haul too before I remembered that. They're not open on Sundays so I'm gonna have to wait til Monday to get my freakin key back. ugh.

Yup....and the dealership should be FORCED to pay for your lost wages for Monday.....if they dont want to pay up for all the bills that this is going to rack up, SUE THEM!! you have an extremely strong case since they did the repair work on it...

saw a guy load up his race truck that didn't run. he had a long strap on the front of it and and it was getting pulled by a truck. guy in the race tuck steering it up onto the trailer I though it was never going to work b/c of the angle the truck was pulling him, but they in fact pulled it onto the trailer no problems at all.

this sucks a big one Travis. Seems to be some nice drive train issues going around lately.

When I had the centerforce clutch installed I had them look at my output extension housing as it was leaking again. They sealed it up and all was fine. I checked yesterday and found it leaking yet again. This is 5th time! I'm going in Wednesday. Tranny is getting inspected and if need be I'm pushing for a new trans. Make matters worse I'm also having a helluva time getting into gear when I start the truck up.

As for who was toting toyota. Not sure if you want to go there. I was talking with my friend who has a 98 Taco TRD. In the 2 years he's had the truck he's replaced the entire front suspension already. He's gone through 2 sets of donahue racing coils, working on his 3rd. I asked him about the new tacos and his response was read consumer reports. Apparently not many people are happy, both on there and on forums. It's bigger, heavier, and wider. For off-roading wider is nice as to lower center of gravity, but bigger and heavier are cons!

So yeah Travis. I think it's time we own some service techs and/or service dept managers!

If his insurance covers this blown engine I think the insurance wil cover lost wages also. Of course it depends on Travis' policy. I know with my policy with state farm I was able to recoupe lost wages when my 93 was totalled.

With only 10k on the truck and 500 on the rebuild, you shouldn't have to pay a dime.

Is there a sticker on the window or a number somewhere you can call for roadside assistance? I looked on the Ford site and all I could find was 1-800-392-3673(FORD).

Call them and ask what to do since it's still under warranty. You should have a rental supplied at no cost and the truck should be repaired at no cost to you. You'd probably have to drive the rental back home and go back and pick your truck up once it's finished.

This really sucks. Good luck with it.

Truck has 56k miles. I dunno where everyone is getting ten from. lol

She's way out of warranty and if there were an extended warranty the original owner didn't transfer it to me.

well, being the tow truck dude that I am, don't ever let that company tow your ride again. DOT laws state that a vehicle must be tied down in a 4 point manner. That doesn't mean that the y chain in the front is 2 points. Not to mention the one j-hook on the rear.

If you are still in Ohio, PM me. We can get your truck and stuff and get you back home. I am always up for a road trip!
