thinking about doing exhaust

I want to get exhaust from the cat back and was thinking about borla since most say it gives the most hp which is what i am after. After seeing the prices on their exhaust system I said forget about it, but then I got to thinking. I could buy the muffler and run standard pipe(I dont care about stainless pipe) and it would be alot cheaper. I have a 06 4.0 I'm thinking of running 2.5" with a Borla Pro XS muffler and either dumping it or running it out to the side, maybe in front of the rear tire. I dont see why this setup wouldnt give me as much hp(assuming the bends in the pipe are nice and smooth) as one I could have an exhaust shop do. input? Thanks

I just bought a Borla Pro XS si/do to replace my flow 40 si/do with.. and it will be dumped just like my current setup, just to try it out and see what kinda improvement i get, i've heard the borla is better for performance than flowmaster, so we'll see.

I do, right clack save as (clip in my signature).

Yours will sound better than mine, as the 04+ 4.0L's have a different cat configuration. Also, when this clip was done, the exhaust was new, not broke in. I need to get a new clip, as it sounds MUCH better broken in.

x2 If you get it working I would love to hear it! I am tossing around the idea of getting a Borla muffler.
